Good news: clay soils are slow to drain, retain moisture, hence plants need less water.

Bad news: absolute pain to excavate.

One tree hole down, six to go.

  1. Bad news buddy. Water has to get through the clay before it can retain moisture. I think Colorado is made of clay...at least where I live.
