pacheco canyon fire

Another fire erupts, closer to home: maybe 15 miles NE of Santa Fe, looks like in the area of Winsor Trail.

Very scary, as this thing simply blew up today.

Please be careful out there everyone.

And pray for rain.

  1. Wildfires scare the hell out of me. Getting rain here in Colorado, and I'm pulling for it to move South, your way.

  2. Yikes. That really sucks. I will do a rain dance and hope for the best.

  3. Pacheco's chewing up mid elevation mixed ponderosa country, has the Pecos Wilderness in its sights today, given the westerly winds projected. Tragic is all I can say- for home owners, hikers, bikers, fly fishermen, everyone who loves the Sangres really.

Tinderbox dry here in NM right now, only the highest elevations showing any green. Monsoons usually kick off around second week of July, it's gonna be a loooong 3 weeks. mike

  4. I hope that it doesn't break over the ridge. Indeed, it will be a long 3 weeks! I think windsor will be safe, but it is too close for comfort.
